In this laboratory project, we are engaged in the data processing of the 2D scan, 3D object scan, and 3D tower scan conducted using the Skydio platform. The procedural outline for setting up these scans is as follows:
1. Initiation: Commence by establishing a new project within the Pix4D application. At this stage, you will be prompted to designate a project name and specify the desired storage location.
2. Data Upload: Subsequently, all the photographs captured during the scanning mission are to be uploaded into the Pix4D application. It is noteworthy that the number of photos collected can vary depending on the specific scan.
3. Georeferencing: Coordinate data for the photos must be set at this point. In our case, the photos were already geotagged, simplifying this process.
4. Configuration: Following georeferencing, there is a series of parameter adjustments that must be made according to the type of data being processed.
5. Processing: After the configuration is complete, the software initiates the processing and stitching together of all the photos. It is important to note that processing times vary, with a rough estimate of around one hour required for every 100 photos, contingent upon the computer's specifications.
6. Post-Processing: Upon the completion of data processing, the resultant 3D model becomes available for examination. Users can manipulate and leverage various features and functionalities for further analysis and applications.
