During the course of this lab experiment, our flight crew successfully conducted a series of flights employing the Skydio 2+ drone platform. Specifically, we executed two distinct 3D scanning operations and one 2D mapping task. The first 3D scan involved the scanning of a car, while the second pertained to the scanning of a light pole. These selections were made with careful consideration of their convenience and the unique 3D scanning methodologies they required. The deliberate choice of these two objects allowed our team to gain valuable hands-on experience with disparate 3D scanning techniques, thereby enriching our proficiency in this domain.

Furthermore, our team conducted a 2D mapping operation, capturing a section of the William H. Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center. This endeavor was undertaken to broaden our skill set in aerial mapping and data collection, contributing to a well-rounded understanding of UAS applications in geospatial data acquisition. The integration of these various data acquisition tasks underscores the comprehensiveness of our training and the versatility of the Skydio 2+ platform in addressing diverse data capture requirements.
